The design of our offices all relate to one another, but they are never formulaic. This page provides specific examples of the ways we often translate the foundations of the Red Hat brand into the design of physical spaces, but it also leaves room for creativity and innovation from our design partners.
Authenticity is a major part of Red Hat's brand personality, and that's why it's so important that each office both reflects its local culture and stays true to the larger Red Hat brand. As a global company, we are made stronger by the diversity of each individual location, and we infuse local culture, communities, and traditions into each unique workplace.
Creating a cohesive Red Hat experience extends to creating branded signage as impactful as a logo on the outside of a building, down to something as humble as signage for our trash cans.
The finishes in Red Hat offices balance use of our core color palette and natural materials with intentional use of our secondary colors.
Red Hat strives to reduce our environmental impact by incorporating sustainable products, practices and materials into our workplaces.
To us, the hat is more than just something that we wear. While the exact style of hat has changed over the years, the meaning has remained the same: it’s a symbol of our shared culture and commitments.
Artifacts are physical representations of Red Hat brand, legacy and culture. These could be conference stickers, software boxes, 3D objects, puzzles, etcetera. In the spirit of authenticity, a key part of Red Hat's brand personality, we're not flashy or boastful. This means that any artifact displays in public-facing areas should not include awards and trophies.
Our offices have screens and panels that help associates navigate, book rooms, and connect to meetings. And the digital signs in some Customer and Partner Experience spaces and Community spaces share messages tailored to each location that inform, engage, and connect associates.
The curvy lines of the Red Hat fedora and the letter 'o' in 'open source' are easily translated into circles and curved lines within our workplace designs.

Interactive elements provide a canvas for self-expression and reflect our commitment to collaboration, where the end product is shared by all. We encourage the use of interactive elements where project budget and scope allow.
No need to reinvent a new graphics compositions each project; we’ve assembled a library of images to get you started. Additional graphics are available beyond what is shown here. Image customization, re-colorization within the Red Hat color palette, and 3D interpretations are welcomed.
Flat or three-dimensional applications of graphics created to reflect the culture of a specific office location. Localization comes to life with employee participation and co-creation from our global partners.
As project budget, timeline and scope allow, we integrate local art in the form of murals or partnerships with local arts organizations. By leaving room for local imagery, we honor the regional culture in a way that is honest and reflective of the here and now.
Our brand mantra shines when showcased in Customer and Partner Experience spaces.
Our brand personality is best contextualized when displayed in Neighborhood or Community spaces.
Our workplace branding is more powerful when our associates participate in its application. They’ll get more out of a workplace if they participate in bringing it to life, or have a specific, purpose-driven location for customization.
Lighting helps bring our spaces to life, whether from a purely functional or an expressive perspective.
These take many forms to meet specific needs. Sometimes, we partner with our Marketing team to provide space for short-term campaign activations, and other times, we provide temporary workplace brand in the form of freestanding or low-damage applications.
